Kin clubs
support Cystic Fibrosis (CF) research and fund local
projects across the country.
The Pembroke Kinsmen Club was chartered in 1947 and has
contributed greatly to the Pembroke community, most notably
through projects such as the Kinsmen Pool, Kinsmen Park and
Kin Hut in Petawawa. Our motto is "Serving the
Community's Greatest Need!"
With the
generous support of many local people and
businesses, the Pembroke Kinsmen Club has raised
over $20,000 in the
past year and a half, redistributing these funds
back into our local economy to support the
many great projects which make our community a richer place
in which to live.
The Pembroke Kinsmen Club supports, on a yearly basis, the
Kinsmen Park outdoor skating rink and multi-youth sports
court, Kinsmen Park/Pool, local high school scholarships,
food banks, and other community needs that might arise.
Some of The Club's annual fundraising projects include
Nevada Ticket Sales, Ryan Joyce Magic Show and the Kinsmen
Community Concert Series.
The Community Concert Series has hosted great musical acts
including Blue Rodeo, Colin James, Natalie McMaster with
Leahy and Sam Roberts with Matt Mays. More great events are
scheduled for 2006-07 including
Jim Cuddy Band, John
McDermott, Colin James
and Ron Sexsmith. These
concerts are a fun way to raise funds for the community.
